An optimal dividends problem with transaction costs for spectrally negative Lévy processes

چکیده
We consider an optimal dividends problem with transaction costs where the reserves are modeled by a spectrally negative Lévy process. We make the connection with the classical de Finetti problem and show in particular that when the Lévy measure has a log-convex density, then an optimal strategy is given by paying out a dividend in such a way that the reserves are reduced to a certain level c1 whenever they are above another level c2. Further we describe a method to numerically find the optimal values of c1 and c2. AMS 2000 subject classifications. Primary 60J99; secondary 93E20, 60G51.

An optimal dividends problem with a terminal value for spectrally negative Lévy processes with a completely monotone jump density
We consider a modified version of the classical optimal dividends problem of de Finetti in which the objective function is altered by adding in an extra term which takes account of the ruin time of the risk process, the latter being modeled by a spectrally negative Lévy process. We show that, with the exception of a small class, a barrier strategy forms an optimal strategy under the condition t...
متن کاملStochastic control for spectrally negative Lévy processes
Three optimal dividend models are considered for which the underlying risk process is a spectrally negative Lévy process. The first one concerns the classical dividends problem of de Finetti for which we give sufficient conditions under which the optimal strategy is of barrier type. As a consequence, we are able to extend considerably the class of processes for which the barrier strategy proves...
متن کاملOn the optimal dividend problem for a spectrally negative Lévy process
In this paper we consider the optimal dividend problem for an insurance company whose risk process evolves as a spectrally negative Lévy process in the absence of dividend payments. The classical dividend problem for an insurance company consists in finding a dividend payment policy that maximizes the total expected discounted dividends. Related is the problem where we impose the restriction th...
متن کاملOptimal dividends in the dual model under transaction costs
We analyze the optimal dividend payment problem in the dual model under constant transaction costs. We show, for a general spectrally positive Lévy process, an optimal strategy is given by a (c1, c2)-policy that brings the surplus process down to c1 whenever it reaches or exceeds c2 for some 0 ≤ c1 < c2. The value function is succinctly expressed in terms of the scale function. A series of nume...
متن کاملDefault Swap Games Driven by Spectrally Negative Lévy Processes∗
This paper studies game-type credit default swaps that allow the protection buyer and seller to raise or reduce their respective positions once prior to default. This leads to the study of an optimal stopping game subject to early default termination. Under a structural credit risk model based on spectrally negative Lévy processes, we apply the principles of smooth and continuous fit to identif...
